MAC Cork Satin Eye Shadow

Hello Readers!

Yesterday I went shopping with a couple of my friends, to have a look around the sales! It was rubbish where I went! I only picked up one item, which was this eyeshadow! And that wasn't even in the sale!

When it comes to make up, I usually wear a very neutral look on my eyes, so I go for brown eyeshadow. I used to use the milk chocolate colour from the Sleek Storm palette, but I have seriously hit pan! I wanted to try and find an alternative for that colour, and I think I have found it! :D

This eyeshadow is from the satin range, and the texture of it is so smooth and soft! You get 1.5g of product, for £11.50. I think this is good value for money, as the colour pay off is really good. My other MAC eyeshadow, Idol Eyes, the colour pay off is not so good. You have to really work with it to get a decent amount of colour.

My flash made this swatch look more golden, and shimmery. It is in fact, a matt colour. :) I put this colour all over my eyelids, and then put a more shimmery brown colour, from my Sleek palette in the crease and blend it up.

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review

Hello Readers!

I am so so sorry that I havent done any reviews in aaages,I have just had so much college work! However now it is the chrismas holidays, I will try to get a few beauty reviews in!

Anyway, back to the subject! One of my readers Zoe, (http://zozeze.blogspot.com/) requested for me to do a review on which foundation I use. By the way, you should totally check out her blog.. I love it! :D

The foundation I use is MAC's Pro Longwear foundation. It retails at £22.50 for 30ml The price is alot higher than the usual foundations which you would find in Boots or Superdrug. However it lasts for a long time, so I think it is worth the money. I have been using this foundation since June 2011, and I am only on my second bottle. A bottle lasts me around 3-4 months. I first invested in it because my end of school prom was in July'11, and I wanted to get a high quality foundation for the day, to cover up any blemishes that I may have grown the night before! Haha.. that sounds so gross! This was my very first MAC purchase! I am the colour NC15.

The consistancy of this foundation is fairly runny. I use the Royal Cosmetics foundation brush to apply it with, and this gives me an even finish! I have previously done a review on this foundation brush, so if you havent already, go check it out! :D The bottle contains a pump, so it is more convenient when applying it, making sure you dont waste any. However when you are coming to the end of the bottle, the pump doesn't reach the very bottom, so I found I have to un-screw the lid, and wait for it to pour out!! The foundation gives me medium to full coverage. I dont suffer with bad acne, however around my nose, and occasionally on my forehead I get little lumpy pimples, which is surrounded by alot of redness, making the spots look 100x worse than they actually are! This foundation covers all of the redness, and makes me a happy girl!

To me, there is one downside to this foundation. It is quite drying. I have a slightly oily T-Zone, and I still have to either apply moisturizer or a primer underneath, or around my nose and forehead, will go quite dry and flakey.. But if I do wear something underneath, it gives me a nicely fresh and slightly dewey look.

On the left hand side is a swatch straight from the bottle, and to the right of that swatch, is the foundation blended in.

I have yet to try any other high-end foundations, because this one is perfect for me at the moment. However I never know, there might be better ones out there! I have tried drugstore ones, from Rimmel and Maybelline, but there is no way I am going back to them, after experiencing what this foundation does for me!

Mini MAC Haul.

Hello readers!

Wow... 2 posts in one night... Impressive! On sunday I went shopping with my mum, and whenever I go to Debenhams, I always want to check out the MAC section Now I'm not one of them girls who only buy high-end make up, I buy what I want to buy! What seems nice, and what has good quality! Whether its the £1 MUA eyeshadows from Superdrug (which have amazing pigment, and I love) to £22 foundation! I just buy what I think is good!

But, with me, and a freshly paid bank account, in a MAC store... Never a good idea! I dont know what it is.. I can never leave there empty handed!

On this mini splurge, I bought 2 items, a single eyeshaddow, and a Lustre lipstick.

The Eyeshadow:

The colour which I picked up is called Idol Eyes
It is a silver shimmery colour, with a hint of lilac. It has quite big chunks of glitter in it, so might not be everyone's choice. Unfortunately, it is not one of MAC's most pigmented colour, therefore you wouldn't be able to wear this colour on its own, you would need a primer underneath, to help bring the colour out.

MAC single eyeshadows retail at £11.50 each, and you get 1.5g of product.

(Sorry about the bad swatching, my camera on my phone cannot withstand its shimmery-ness!)

Idol Eyes eyeshadow: 3/5

The Lipstick:

The lipstick which I picked up is from the Lustre range, and is called Lovelorn. To me, this is the most beautiful shade of pink! It is so girly, and so classic!

MAC lipsticks retail at £13.50 each, and contain 3g of product. According to the MAC website it is "a blue-toned emotive pink". I just love it!

I love the packaging, it is just so sleek! The lipstick itself has a slight vanilla scent to it.

By far, this is one of my most favorite lipsticks!
Lovelorn Lipstick: 4.5/5

Let me know if you have tried any of these products!

Royal Cosmetics Foundation Brush

Hello Readers!

Im baaack! Sorry about the long delay, I have been up to my neck in college work! :(

Anyway, over the last week, I have made some purchases! For foundation I use MAC Prolongwear foundation. If you would like me to do a review on this foundation, drop me a comment! There are many ways of applying foundation, my preference is to use a brush. I think it is crucial to find the best brush you can when using it for foundation, as some can leave streaks, and even make you look patchy! Not what you want! I desire the MAC 190 foundation brush, but I cant justify spending £26 on a brush... Thats even more than the foundation itself!

I was browsing the internet for a reasonably priced foundation brush, when I came across this one on Amazon. I was a bit comprehensive about buying this brush as with postage&packaging, it came to just over £3... But I thought that if I didnt try things out, I wouldnt know. So I took the bull by the horns, and placed an order.

To be honest, I really didnt know what to expect! When it came, I was so impressed! It isnt the thickest brush in the world, but it is not the thinnest! It has just the right amount of bristles to blend my foundation in perfectly. The brush itself is quite sleek, and professional looking. A plastic black handle, with "FOUNDATION BRUSH" engraved into it, in silver. I personally like the multi-tone bristles, as I think it gives it more of a professional, and natural look to it.

This brush lasts such a long time, and is TOTALLY worth the money! Infact, this is my second one of these brushes! I ordered my first one in around April time, and with my experience it never shed any of its bristles! The only reason I brought a new one, is because I have a weird thing about keeping the same brush for too long.. Of course I washed it every so often, but I just decided that it's time was up!

Here is the link to the Amazon page where I brought mine, I would strongly recommend this brush if you are wanting a good quality, at low priced brush!

Let me know if any of you have/going to order this brush!

Hello Readers!

Now this isnt a review, but I need some advice!

I wore red nail varnish on my finger nails for about a week, and I have just taken it off, to reveal my freshly yellow stained nails!! :'( I know, I know, I should have worn a base coat, but I didnt... I have never had this trouble before... Does anyone have any advice, on how to get my nails back to normal colour.. The yellow makes me look like a smoker, and its disgusting!

Thank youuu!

L'OREAL Studio Secrets Universal Lip Glow

Hello Readers! :)

Today in Boots I was just having a little look around, and I never usually have a look at L'OREAL, but today I found myself browsing! Now I had never seen any reviews on this product, never even heard of it to be honest! I saw it on the shelf, and the glamourous black and pink packaging caught my eye! I presumed it would be a normal lipstick... Boy oh boy was I wrong?! I hate to admit it, but I am one for a good old gimmick!

I took the tester, swizzled it up, and WOW! It is like a transparent bright pink/orange colour! I had never seen anything like it before! It looks so edible! Like a hard boiled sweet! It has a slight orangey flavour to it, but it is not too over-powering!

Have any of you tried that green Barry M lipstick, which changes colour due to the acidity of your lips? Well this kind of does the same! It changes colour due to the moisture of your lips! So it will be individual to each and everyone of you! The texture of it is alot like a lip balm, rather than a lip stick.

(Sorry about the faint colour showing up, the light was doing it no justice!)

What L'OREAL have to say about it: "A Natural Glow; The Universal Lip Glow feels light and non drying on your lips. A natural shade of pink, just for you.
A Smooth Texture; Enriched with pomegranate extract, emollient oil and polymers, Universal Lip Glow leaves the lips feeling soft and supple.

This product is a little pricey, at £8.49, but to me, it is totally worth it! It was such an impulse buy, but I'm glad I brought it!

Rating: 4/5 ****

Hope you found this review helpful!

Lots of Love,

Vicky

17 Mirror Shine Lipstick - Beehive

Hello All!
I am doing well today, 2 blog posts in one day! I shouldn't think this will happen alot!

Moving on to the subject of the post! On friday, I purchased Beehive from the 17 collection in boots. This lipstick is raved about in the blogging world, so I almost felt like I had to have it! I swatched the grimey tester on my hand in the shop, and the colour seemed really pretty! So I put one in my basket, and headed for the till.

When I got home, I opened it up, and was so eager to try it! My first impression... horrible. I was so disappointed.I was expecting a really nice pinky nude, but it just made my lips look SO cakey. I wanted a natural look with this, and it almost made me look like I had the typical 'concealer lips'.

However it is VERY moisturizing and creamy, and has a nice gleam to it. I like the mirrored turquoise blue packaging, but others may not!

These retail at £4.69 each. I will conceder buying other colours from this range, but as this is the first lipstick that I have got from there, it hasnt given me the best impression!

What are your thoughts on this lipstick? Have you tried it?

My views: 2/5 ** :(

Pretige Colour Treat Lipsticks

Hello Readers! Got another review for you! :D

The other day, after I had finished college, I decided to go an have a look around the local Boots, as it is much bigger than the one in my hometown! I fancied going on a bit of a spending spree, as it was payday, and I had caught a bit of a cold, and shopping always seems to make me feel better!

So I was having a bit of a browse around the make-up section, seeing what new products there are, swatching nearly every sparkly eye-shadow, as you can imagine! Then I came to a stand which I had never noticed before; Prestige. This Boots that I was in, must be discontinuing their range of prestige, as the display was practically empty with a couple of bits and bobs still remaining! What drew my attention the most was the fact that they were having a 75% off clearance!

All in all, I picked up 9 products, and Boots are currently having a 3 for 2 offer on all their make-up, so I paid for just 6! I will do separate posts on each item, as I want these reviews to be morse precise!

I personally like the packaging, as it looks girly and pretty, and you wouldnt be embarrassed to keep it in your make up bag, or to whip it out in public! However, some people may not like it, as it is very plasticy! It is just a simple grey tube, with baby pink, fancy writing, saying Prestige all over the lid.

I picked up two of these lipsticks, I think there are 10 different shades all in all, but in this Boots, they only had about 5 shades available. They are usually £6.50 each , but because of the 75% off sale, I got them for £1.62 each! Massive bargain if you ask me!

The first shade which I picked up is: LCL-03 - Radiant Coral. The name of it pretty much describes it to a T! It is more pinky toned than orange in my eyes, and it has a lovely sheen to it! It is quite a bold colour when on your lips, and it comes out pretty much true to colour! They are both very moisturising too! My camera is making the colour look ALOT more red than it really is... I would say it is more of a warmer coral than you would expect.. Its lovely though!

If you take a look on their website, you will be able to see the actual colours a lot more accurately.
*** http://www.prestigecosmetics.com/lips_color_treat_anti-aging_lipstick.cfm ***

This is Radiant Coral Above!

Moving on to the second lipstick; LCL-04 - Beautifully Buff.

This lipstick is my favorite out of the two! It is my lip colour, but better! It gives out a really nice natural, yet classy feel to it. It is a dusky pink colour, with a tinge of brown(?). Haha, my descriptive skills need to improve! The photos of this one are a lot closer to real life than the Radiant Coral one! Stupid Sunlight! Haha!

Both lipsticks go on a dream, and last on your lips for an average time. The texture is not too creamy, but it is not too waxy (like the barry m lipsticks). I would recommend these lipsticks, as they are nice quality, however to me, they are one of them products that once it is used up, you wont go out rushing to buy it again, you move on, and try to find an alternative!

My rating: 4/5 ****

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Lots of Love

Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara

My very first experience with this mascara, was with a little free sample tube, given to me in Debenhams. At first, I didn't want to use it, as it was my very first possession of a Chanel product, and I didnt want to use it all up! Stupid I know! But when I got round to trying it, WOW! I could not believe my eyes, well eyelashes! This mascara is FABULOUS!

The mascara is very good quality! I have found that it last the whole day without dropping under your eyes, making you look like a panda towards the end of the day... (YES MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL, I AM LOOKING AT YOU!)

This mascara retails at £22.50, and to me, it is totally worth the money! 99.999% of women use mascara, even if that is the only cosmetic that they wear, so I feel a good quality one is worth it!

I hope you found this mascara useful!

5/5 from me! :D *****

Sorry about the shoddy photographs, I am yet to learn how to get the correct lighting techniques!
