MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review

Hello Readers!

I am so so sorry that I havent done any reviews in aaages,I have just had so much college work! However now it is the chrismas holidays, I will try to get a few beauty reviews in!

Anyway, back to the subject! One of my readers Zoe, (http://zozeze.blogspot.com/) requested for me to do a review on which foundation I use. By the way, you should totally check out her blog.. I love it! :D

The foundation I use is MAC's Pro Longwear foundation. It retails at £22.50 for 30ml The price is alot higher than the usual foundations which you would find in Boots or Superdrug. However it lasts for a long time, so I think it is worth the money. I have been using this foundation since June 2011, and I am only on my second bottle. A bottle lasts me around 3-4 months. I first invested in it because my end of school prom was in July'11, and I wanted to get a high quality foundation for the day, to cover up any blemishes that I may have grown the night before! Haha.. that sounds so gross! This was my very first MAC purchase! I am the colour NC15.

The consistancy of this foundation is fairly runny. I use the Royal Cosmetics foundation brush to apply it with, and this gives me an even finish! I have previously done a review on this foundation brush, so if you havent already, go check it out! :D The bottle contains a pump, so it is more convenient when applying it, making sure you dont waste any. However when you are coming to the end of the bottle, the pump doesn't reach the very bottom, so I found I have to un-screw the lid, and wait for it to pour out!! The foundation gives me medium to full coverage. I dont suffer with bad acne, however around my nose, and occasionally on my forehead I get little lumpy pimples, which is surrounded by alot of redness, making the spots look 100x worse than they actually are! This foundation covers all of the redness, and makes me a happy girl!

To me, there is one downside to this foundation. It is quite drying. I have a slightly oily T-Zone, and I still have to either apply moisturizer or a primer underneath, or around my nose and forehead, will go quite dry and flakey.. But if I do wear something underneath, it gives me a nicely fresh and slightly dewey look.

On the left hand side is a swatch straight from the bottle, and to the right of that swatch, is the foundation blended in.

I have yet to try any other high-end foundations, because this one is perfect for me at the moment. However I never know, there might be better ones out there! I have tried drugstore ones, from Rimmel and Maybelline, but there is no way I am going back to them, after experiencing what this foundation does for me!

Rating: 4.5/5

Thank you for reading! :) Leave any requests in the comment box!
