Jack Wills Nail Varnish - Rose

Hello Readers!

The other day, I bought this nail varnish from Jack Wills. For all of you who don't know what Jack Wills is, its a (fairly pricey) clothing brand, which was originally aimed at university students.

I knew Jack Wills did "Beauty" but I was always quite reluctant to try it, because their main selling point is clothes, so I didn't know if they were to look for quality in their products, rather than just launching make up, just because they can! So I thought that I will try a nail varnish first, and see how that measures up!

I got the colour Rose, which in the bottle looks, a cross between a barbie pink, and almost quite coral coloured! However when it is on the nails, it does match up to the description which I just said, but in natural daylight, it almost looks quite neon pink, which personally, I'm not a massive fan of!

The bottle is a lot like Models Own nail polishes, but this one has got a plastic navy lid, as the main colours of Jack Wills are navy and pink. The formula surprised me! It is a fairly thick consistency, but still needs two coats! I have had it on for 2 days now, and there are still no chips! If it stays like this, barely chipping, I will invest in some more colours! Ive seen a really nice baby blue/ mint colour, which is called Aqua on the website, and I really like the look of it!

I will keep this on my nails for a few days longer, and see if I can warm to the colour! If not, I think it will be a nice colour for toe nails in the summer!

This retails for £6 for 14ml. I don't think that is too bad, given the quality! The only downside to this polish, is the colour is a bit bright for my liking!

Here is a link to the page on the Jack Wills website with the nail polishes on!

Have any of you tried any Jack Wills' beauty range? Do let me know what you think to it! :D

Thanks for reading!

Technic Carnival Nail Polish

Hello Readers!

Yesterday I picked myself up yet another nail polish. Its official, I have too many now! But as soon as I saw this one, I just couldn't resist it! This certain shade has been floating around the "blogosphere" and I finally got my mitts on it! I have a bit of a weakness when it comes to glittery nail polishes! I have been eyeing up OPI's Rainbow Connection, and this one is supposed to be a dupe of it.

I present to you, Technic's version, Carnival!

From what I can work out, it has 2 different sizes of multi-coloured glitter in it! To get full coverage, I would recommend 3-4 coats.

I bought mine from a Bodycare Store, which unfortunately do not have an online shop. I bought mine for 99p, which is an absolute steal compared to OPI's £10+ prices! I would get down to your nearest Bodycare if you can access one, if not, here is a link for some on Amazon., They are slightly more expensive on there, but just think about the saving you are getting, from not buying the OPI version!

Do any of you girls have this polish? What do you think about it? I love it!

My Rating: 4/5 ****

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Crystal Creme Lipstick - Crystal Pink; Review

Hello Readers, and welcome new readers! :D

I have another lipstick review for you! This one is from Estee Lauder. This lipstick is the only product I own from this brand, and it has not given me any negative views on the brand!

The lipstick is so creamy on application! In colour, it looks quite dark to me, however it matches my lip colour! The lasting power for this lipstick in my opinion would be about 2 hours maximum, and thats without eating! But as it is in such a glamourous and luxurious tube, I'm not too fussed about retouching in public! It is a bit sheerer than a normal lipstick, but some how gives an excellent flush of colour!

What Estee Lauder have to say about it: "Looks and feels incredible. It leaves lips wanting more. Enriched with lip-loving ingredients, including apricot kernel, shea butter and murumuru butter that leave lips soft and creamy smooth." What woman could turn that description away?! If I didn't already have this lipstick, I would definitely want to go out ASAP and buy this lipstick!

This lipstick retails for £18.50 for 3.8g of product. To me, this is definitely a luxury buy, and it is a proud member of my lipstick collection.

My Rating: 4/5 ****

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick - Boy

Hello readers!

I received this lipstick as a gift for christmas, and have only just got round to reviewing it for you!

(Sorry about the rubbish quality of the photos, the lighting source is really rubbish!)

Anyway, onto the product! The colour of this lipstick is 54- Boy. It is a perfect everyday colour. To me, it is a 'my lips but better' colour. It is labeled as "Hydrating sheer lipstick." The lipstick is very sheer, as it states, so you will not get 100% full coverage with this product. The texture of it is more like a lip balm, but gives your lips a lovely sheen of colour!

To me, all Chanel makeup packaging is so chic, and fancy! Even the cardboard box which the lisptick comes in is nice! The lipstick casing itself, is black plastic, with a gold metal ring around the centre. My Chanel mascara has a silver part, rather than gold!

What Boots have to say about this lipstick "As melt-away as a balm, its lip-embracing texture becomes fluid on contact with the lips and provides a stunning gloss effect with natural shine. Deliciously fresh and soft, it delivers an unforgettable sensation of well-being.Lips are enveloped in the incomparable comfort of continuous 8-hour-long hydration thanks to the Hydratender complex, the secret behind the softness of the ROUGE COCO range.Sparkling with vitality, your smile takes on a new sheer colour."

The lipstick has a slight floral smell and taste, but it is nothing too offensive.

You get 3g of product, for £23. Some people will probably think that spending that amount of money on a single lipstick is ridiculous, my mum being one of them! However, this is probably one of the most luxurious items in my make up collection. I believe that every woman, at least once in their lives, should own a Chanel product!

I absolutely love this lipstick, it is my absolute favorite out of my entire collection. But I need to use it sparingly, as I dont want to run out of this fantastic product anytime soon!

Well done Chanel!

MAC Cork Satin Eye Shadow

Hello Readers!

Yesterday I went shopping with a couple of my friends, to have a look around the sales! It was rubbish where I went! I only picked up one item, which was this eyeshadow! And that wasn't even in the sale!

When it comes to make up, I usually wear a very neutral look on my eyes, so I go for brown eyeshadow. I used to use the milk chocolate colour from the Sleek Storm palette, but I have seriously hit pan! I wanted to try and find an alternative for that colour, and I think I have found it! :D

This eyeshadow is from the satin range, and the texture of it is so smooth and soft! You get 1.5g of product, for £11.50. I think this is good value for money, as the colour pay off is really good. My other MAC eyeshadow, Idol Eyes, the colour pay off is not so good. You have to really work with it to get a decent amount of colour.

My flash made this swatch look more golden, and shimmery. It is in fact, a matt colour. :) I put this colour all over my eyelids, and then put a more shimmery brown colour, from my Sleek palette in the crease and blend it up.

Rating 4.5/5

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review

Hello Readers!

I am so so sorry that I havent done any reviews in aaages,I have just had so much college work! However now it is the chrismas holidays, I will try to get a few beauty reviews in!

Anyway, back to the subject! One of my readers Zoe, (http://zozeze.blogspot.com/) requested for me to do a review on which foundation I use. By the way, you should totally check out her blog.. I love it! :D

The foundation I use is MAC's Pro Longwear foundation. It retails at £22.50 for 30ml The price is alot higher than the usual foundations which you would find in Boots or Superdrug. However it lasts for a long time, so I think it is worth the money. I have been using this foundation since June 2011, and I am only on my second bottle. A bottle lasts me around 3-4 months. I first invested in it because my end of school prom was in July'11, and I wanted to get a high quality foundation for the day, to cover up any blemishes that I may have grown the night before! Haha.. that sounds so gross! This was my very first MAC purchase! I am the colour NC15.

The consistancy of this foundation is fairly runny. I use the Royal Cosmetics foundation brush to apply it with, and this gives me an even finish! I have previously done a review on this foundation brush, so if you havent already, go check it out! :D The bottle contains a pump, so it is more convenient when applying it, making sure you dont waste any. However when you are coming to the end of the bottle, the pump doesn't reach the very bottom, so I found I have to un-screw the lid, and wait for it to pour out!! The foundation gives me medium to full coverage. I dont suffer with bad acne, however around my nose, and occasionally on my forehead I get little lumpy pimples, which is surrounded by alot of redness, making the spots look 100x worse than they actually are! This foundation covers all of the redness, and makes me a happy girl!

To me, there is one downside to this foundation. It is quite drying. I have a slightly oily T-Zone, and I still have to either apply moisturizer or a primer underneath, or around my nose and forehead, will go quite dry and flakey.. But if I do wear something underneath, it gives me a nicely fresh and slightly dewey look.

On the left hand side is a swatch straight from the bottle, and to the right of that swatch, is the foundation blended in.

I have yet to try any other high-end foundations, because this one is perfect for me at the moment. However I never know, there might be better ones out there! I have tried drugstore ones, from Rimmel and Maybelline, but there is no way I am going back to them, after experiencing what this foundation does for me!
